Our mission is to better understand how the aging brain works and design treatments and prevention plans that will result in longer, better lives. Our transdisciplinary approach to clinical research, clinical care, education and training, and community outreach can make a significant positive impact on the lives of individuals and families living in South Florida and beyond.
The Comprehensive Center for Brain Health (CCBH) was created to provide a personalized approach to brain health and improving the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and cure for common age-related neurodegenerative diseases such as mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Frontotemporal Degeneration, Vascular Cognitive impairment, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
Our center uses a transdisciplinary approach in all of our research projects and clinical care, combining the best practices of neurology, gerontology, nursing, social work, psychotherapy, integrative nutrition, mindfulness, lifestyle modification, physical therapy, falls prevention, public health, medical education, epidemiology, and biostatistics.
CCBH Founding Director, Dr. James E. Galvin, MD, MPH.
