Rebecca Smither, MS, CHES

Outreach Coordinator

Rebecca is the Outreach Coordinator at the Comprehensive Center for Brain Health at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. She partners with community organizations and associations to develop opportunities to increase neurology knowledge, health literacy, and lifelong learning. She coordinates educational programs for both professional and lay audiences, including conferences, lectures, and community presentations. She also coordinates and facilitates on-campus and off-campus engagement activities providing healthy brain aging experiences. Rebecca earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Health Education and Behavior at the University of Florida and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She is a PhD student in Education with a research interest in the learning approaches and educational strategies utilized by older adults for effective self-management of chronic diseases with a focus on autodidactic and heutagogical frameworks in lifelong learning.
