Outreach

The CCBH Outreach Mission is to provide engaging brain health activities fostering cognitive skills, well-being, creative expression, and social connection. We provide these science-based enrichment programs at community centers, libraries, places of worship, learning facilities, civic organizations, residential groups, and health and wellness associations in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

Origami Art

Community members joined us at CCBH for a Japanese folding paper workshop. “Ori” (折り) means “folding,” and “kami” (紙), means “paper.”

Origami practice enhances focus, memory, and problem-solving skills. Participants made cranes, animals, and flowers. 

 

DrumBeats Workshop

CCBH visits Volen Center in Boca Raton with Mind and Melody for a multi-sensory and fun drumming experience.

Learning to play a musical instrument and singing familiar songs creates a synergy between working memory and long-term memory, enhancing cognitive skills.

Neurographica Art

CCBH’s hybrid Neurographica class, participants attended in-person at CCBH and virtually by Zoom.

Neurographica is a mindful-based drawing method using lines and shapes to set an intension to manifest goals and foster personal growth. Colors are added and the final artwork is not known until the end. 

Ageless Grace class

CCBH visits Pompey Senior Club in Pompano Beach introducing Ageless Grace, a seated brain and body fitness class developed to improve cognitive function and physical skills with a 21-skill engagement format. 

A fun class for all abilities with inspiring music to keep everyone moving.

Origami Art

CCBH brings Origami to East Boynton Beach Library .

Origami improves spatial reasoning, fine motor skills, and concentration by engaging the mind in precise, step-by-step folding patterns, while offering a calming, meditative practice to reduces stress.

Zentangle® Art

CCBH and Mind & Mobility of Boca Raton host a beginner Zentangle workshop.

Zentangle is drawing method of intricate shapes and repetitive patterns that are easy to learn. Zentangle fosters calmness, focus, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment.

 

Book Club

CCBH and Deerfield Beach Women’s Club enjoy bi-monthly book discussions. 

Reading groups strengthens cognitive abilities such as critical thinking, empathy, and memory through analytical discussions and exposure to diverse perspectives.

 

Ageless Grace class

A seated class with Pompey Senior Group to promote cognitive agility, coordination, and memory through creative movement and brain-body integration.

Fun music and social connection to boost mood and reduce stress.

Drumming Workshop

CCBH brings drumming to Volen Center in Boca Raton.

Drumming can enhance cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and executive functioning through rhythmic coordination and pattern recognition. It boosts mood by reducing stress and fostering social engagement.
