Deborah M. Germain, MPH(c), CDP(c)
Project Manager
Deborah’s journey is fueled by a passion for advancing research, promoting brain health, and fostering community engagement. She holds a Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology Concentration in Integrated General Studies Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Global Public Health from Rutgers University and a Certified Dementia Practioner certificate. Deborah’s professional experience includes developing and implementing brain health and Alzheimer’s disease education programs for diverse communities, organizations, and cultural groups, including Hispanic, French, and Creole, throughout Palm Beach County.
Prior to UM CCBH, Deborah was the Program Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association Palm Beach County and managed engagement, awareness, education, care and support, and the helpline. She was a Program Coordinator for the Brain Bus Program, a collaboration with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Alzheimer’s Association, and the Area Agency of Aging Pasco County, and reached 37,000 English-speaking and Spanish-speaking community members annually across the state of Florida, with a focus on rural and diverse communities. In her research endeavors, she has delved into projects involving biomaterials and filaments, with a keen interest in translating these findings into practical applications within clinical settings. Her specific interest lies in investigating neurological disorders within underrepresented communities, aiming to bridge gaps in understanding and address unique challenges faced by these populations.
